Jiansheng Chen is a lecturer at the Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University of China. Before joining Tsinghua in 2009, he worked as postdoctoral fellow at the Chinese University of Hong Kong during 2007-2008. He got his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2007. His M.Eng degree and B.Eng degree were all from the Department of Computer Science and Technology, Tsinghua University, in 2002 and 1999 respectively.

Jiansheng Chen has worked extensively on computer vision and pattern recognition, especially on image or video based recognition and understanding. His current research aims at leverage the theory of machine learning/pattern recognition and human cognitive cues to develop effective algorithms with non-trivial theoretical guarantees, particularly for tackling recognition tasks under complicated environments.
